On Wednesday October 23, IRCER organized a seminar dedicated to sustainable development, in the presence of Nicolas Tessier-Doyen, Delegate Vice-President in charge of Ecological and Societal Transition at the University of Limoges, and Baptiste Favard, Sustainable Development Officer at the CNRS-Centre Limousin Poitou-Charente Regional Delegation. Two plenary lectures were given on the themes of “Recycling and reuse of materials: challenges for the preservation of natural resources” and “Life Cycle Assessment of materials: evaluation and perspectives”, led respectively by Jean-François Gérard, Deputy Scientific Director CNRS Chemistry, Polymer Materials Engineering Laboratory and Arthur Laporte, Project Manager, APESA. The day continued with presentations on sustainable development in research unit operations, followed by the IRCER laboratory’s carbon footprint. Finally, the seminar closed with flash presentations of the research topics being carried out by doctoral students on sustainable development within the laboratory. The seminar was a resounding success, illustrating the laboratory’s commitment to this cross-disciplinary theme.
