Lech Pawlowski publishes a book entitled “Physical Deposition Methods for Films and Coatings”

Lech Pawlowski, Emeritus Professor at the University of Limoges, as part of IRCER, renowned and awarded with over 40 years’ experience in the field, has just published a new book entitled: “Physical Deposition Methods for Films and Coatings”. This book presents an educational compilation of current knowledge in the field of dry deposition.

It covers topics such as:

  • The process of making a deposit appear on the surface, deposit growth, post-treatment and characterization methods
  • Different physical and chemical deposition techniques, including atomistic, chemical vapor and various thermal spray methods
  • Deposit properties as a function of material and deposition technique
  • Substrate preparation, coating microstructure, thin-film morphology and stability
  • Examples of thin-film applications in optical devices, environmental applications, telecommunication devices and energy storage devices
